I AM YAHWEH (a Devotional)

Please note: I have used The Passion Translation, which is a paraphrase of the scriptures given. This gives us, the reader a better “feel” for what is being said. Sometimes hearing the same translation over and over again we don’t “hear” what the scripture is saying because it is so familiar.

Here’s what Yahweh says to you: “I know all about the marvelous destiny I have in store for you, a future planned out in detail. My intention is not to harm you but to surround you with peace and prosperity and to give you a beautiful future, glistening with hope. When you call on me and come to me in prayer, I will listen to your every word. If you reach out to me, you will find me when you search for me with all your heart. I will not disappoint you,” declares Yahweh. “All that you have lost, I will restore, and I will regather you from all the nations where I have scattered you. I will bring you back home to the land from which I exiled you,” declares Yahweh.

Jeremiah 29:11-14 (The Passion Translation)

Here is Our Response:

“Lord, you know everything there is to know about me.

You perceive every movement of my heart and soul,

and you understand my every thought before it even enters my mind.

You are so intimately aware of me, Lord.

You read my heart like an open book

and you know all the words I’m about to speak

before I even start a sentence!

You know every step I will take before my journey even begins.

You’ve gone into my future to prepare the way,

and in kindness you follow behind me

to spare me from the harm of my past.

You have laid your hand on me!

This is just too wonderful, deep, and incomprehensible!

Your understanding of me brings me wonder and strength.”

Psalm 139:1-6 (The Passion Translation)

God knows us all completely. We were known by Him before we knew Him. This makes me pause and feel Wonder-struck. He wants only the best for His children. ALL of us. The ones who have said, “Yes, Jesus” and the ones who have not yet recognized Him. ALL have been created in His image with a purpose He has given to each of us to move the Kingdom of God forward here on earth.

I can call to God: Father, Jesus, Holy Spirit anytime. God surrounds me always. His presence permeates my very flesh, because He created it. Overwhelming wonder. The need to sit and be in His presence. Any struggles I may feel melt away in the knowledge of who YAHWEH is.

God knows the struggles we have. He also knows what is best for us – each individual and allows us to make our own decisions. Yes, there are consequences for whatever decisions we make – good or bad. That is His gift to us, and He will never take that away. We must learn from our mistakes and march forward because His grace is sufficient for every step. He knows we learn and we grow each time.

These following are declarations that you can read/recite everyday. A reminder of who God is to you personally. I recommend saying them out loud and let the words wash over you and into your soul.

Take these declarations of Yahweh to heart. Hear the Great I AM speak to you through them. Know who He is in your life. Repeat them every day and allow your heart and soul begin to align in that belief.
