A winding, twisting road
Cliff on my right
A wall of rocks on my left
Fast – Faster
Traveling this winding road
I cannot see up or down
Forward
Onward
No turning back
Light drives
I am a passenger
Colors surround this vehicle
Up
Down
Twisted turns
Like a roller coaster
Yet, peace fills
My being
Up, up, up
Focused forward
Brilliant lights
Stopping suddenly
Before me
Stands Jesus
“How was the ride?” he asks.
A gleam in his eye
“Quite fun and exhilarating,” I said.
A lesson to remember
Stay focused on what is ahead and now
Not behind and in the past
The present will prepare
The future will express
The past is now nothing
